Although he started to paint at the age of 16, he studied Architecture at the University of Columbia, where he graduated in 1991. While in New York, he worked for various small architecture firms, while continuing to paint in his spare time. In 1992, he received the Solomn R. Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship Award to work and study in Venice, Italy. While in Italy, he became familiar with the Furniture Design Industry and upon returning to New York began working with the prestigious ModernAge Gallery. In 1995, he designed his own line of contemporary furniture and began manufacturing in Mexico City. He continued to paint while working in furniture, and in the year 1999, he took residence in the La Condesa neighborhood of Mexico City. In 2001, he decided to leave the furniture industry to dedicate all of his time to the fine art of painting. He has his first important solo show was at Casa Lamm in 2003, and from there he began to exhibit in the following place in the Mexico, United States, Europe and Asia. From 2007 he has been living and working in the Centro Historico of Mexico City.
